Using 2x4basics AnySize Table or Low Bench, Green, and your 2x4's, you can custom build a very sturdy picnic bench or low table, coffee table, side table or footrest up to 8 feet (2.4m). Versatile design makes the AnySize Table or Low Bench a good value for your outdoor furniture needs. You can store it as a side table or footrest and then use it as an extra bench when your seating requirements increase. Simple assembly with only a powered screwdriver and a saw. Only straight 90 degree cuts are required - no miters or angles. If you would like rounded corners, a handy downloadable cutting template is provided on our website. All hardware is included. These are great as benches. I would not suggest making them more than five feet long however. The instructions say you can make them up to eight feet long, but as a bench this would only work if no one ever sat in the middle and I can't imagine why anyone would want an eight foot long table that was 15-inches wide. I made four benches each four feet long. I used pressure treated lumber and the hardware provided. Assembly was easy and the finished product looked and worked just as I expected. Be advised the finished furniture is quite heavy.

We bought this bench/table after we purchased their convertible bench-picnic table units. They are all rock-solid and easy to assemble. We've also bought the bench/chair unit as well and are planning on making an outdoors chair.
If you want strong, functional outdoors furniture you can assemble but which doesn't require a whole lot of tools, these are the ones for you.

Solid as a rock. Great Product - works and looks just as described and pictured. My advice? Get Thomson's pressure treated (or any pressure treated pine) 2X4s with this hardware. If you go the outdoor hardwoods you will find it much, much more difficult to assemble, even with a power or cordless screwdriver.
Also, only buy this product, and all other 2X4Basic products, THROUGH AMAZON! Do not get them through a third party vendor (as I did with the 2X4Basics Table/Bench (with backrest). You will pay a fortune in shipping! I bought one through BuilderDepot and paid over $50.00 in shipping. Yes, that was fifty (five oh) in shipping. Learn by my mistake!

Exactly what the package promised. Used cheap wall studs, finished with an outdoor stain, and it looks great!
