Solid chairs October 21, 2007 Chainsaw (Rigby, ID USA) 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
We have owned two of these chairs for just over a week now, and we love them. Everyone who has seen them seems to like the chairs too. They are made of solid wood--a plus in today's furniture market. The wood has subtle grains and is a nice honey color. The chairs are heavier than I expected, but also shorter than we had guessed (the back probably stands 3-4 inches shorter than your standard dining room chair). They appear to be made in Vietnam.
The assembly was simple (only six bolts) and the chairs went together in no time. My wife had both assembled in less than 15 minutes.
When putting the chairs together, I recommend that you tighten the bolts as you would lug nuts on a tire--namely, don't fully cinch one down until all of the bolts are snug. The first chair was a little wobbly when first put together, which I think was a result of trying to fully tighten one of the bolts before the rest were in place. It was a quick fix, however; all we did was snug-tighten each bolt and then once that was done, we cinched each one. Having learned that, the second chair came together well and both do not have any wobble to them.
The chairs are attractive enough that we are using them inside the house for extra seating. I am not sure how they would hold up outside under the elements. My guess is not as well as something more expensive such as teak, but would still do fairly well outside. Overall, we are very pleased with the purchase.
Strathwood Lido Chairs are a great value August 6, 2007 R. Allen (Denver, CO USA) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I ordered these chairs because they were so cheap, and I am thrilled by their quality craftsmanship and durability. I had a party this weekend where everyone was sitting comfortably on these chairs and complimenting how great they look.
Once again- Beautiful and Fast shipping August 29, 2007 Caleb J. Stephens (King George) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am again amazed at the quality of these chairs. They are beautiful and simple to put together. I am so excited to get the matching table! I was a little worried about my order because UPS has not been updating their tracking software, but both orders of these chairs arrived together and intact. Kudos to UPS for fantastic shipping. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a gorgeous wood patio set!
Cheaply made July 28, 2007 E. L. Martens (California) 17 out of 19 found this review helpful
Purchased these chairs to go along with a table I recently refinished. They are very cheaply made. Held together by only 6 small bolts. When you sit in them they feel like they are going to fall apart. Very unhappy and not worth it. I doubt they'll last a year before one breaks.
Keep the tools handy to retighten February 6, 2008 bizEmom 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The chairs assemble easily enough (they come in 3 parts - the seat, the front legs and the back legs) - however, beware that the bolts come loose way too easily and you'll need to keep the tool handy to retighten them often. I may get out some Gorilla Glue (wonderful stuff once it foams and dries) to strengthen the structure of the chairs.
